Welding Supervisor

Role Overview:
As a pivotal member of the Pride Bodies Ltd. team, you will oversee a dedicated group of Welders, collaborating closely with fellow Supervisors and the Production Manager to fulfill customer requirements effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the principles of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork, and Leadership.
- Drive production outcomes by clearly communicating job expectations, planning and assigning tasks, evaluating job performance, and providing coaching and accountability.
- Foster a collaborative environment by engaging with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Purchasing, and Production.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma is mandatory.
- Certification as a Welding Supervisor CWB W.47.1 or willingness to obtain.
- Certification as a Welding Supervisor CWB W.47.2 or willingness to obtain.
- Proficient in welding with valid CWB tickets for both W.47.1 steel and W.47.2 aluminum.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role within a custom fabrication environment.
- Expertise in welding, fabrication, and fitting with both aluminum and steel.
- Strong reasoning skills to follow instructions in various formats.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with MS Office is advantageous.
Daily Activities:
- Monitor attendance and vacation schedules to ensure optimal staffing.
- Inspire team members to meet production goals and targets.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Welders.
- Ensure compliance with approved welding procedures on the shop floor or in the field.
- Plan, assign, and troubleshoot processes to enhance efficiency; participate in meetings to relay production issues to management.
- Verify that welding procedures are current and compliant with CWB standards.
- Maintain up-to-date welder certifications and ensure weld quality meets specified standards.
- Educate team members on company policies, procedures, and quality expectations.
- Ensure documentation for Quality Performance Systems is consistently maintained.
- Be available for overtime as needed to meet production demands.
- Perform additional duties as required, with appropriate training provided.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly, with occasional sitting and lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs. Specific vision capabilities include close vision and depth perception. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection must be worn throughout the shift.
