Key Responsibilities

As a Class 1 Lowbed Winch Driver, your primary responsibility will be the safe transportation of heavy machinery, including excavators, graders, loaders, scrapers, dozers, rock trucks, tractors, and packers to diverse job sites. Your specific duties will encompass:

  • Loading and unloading equipment while adhering to site safety protocols.
  • Securing loads using chains and tarps as necessary.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle, including daily preventative maintenance checks and safety inspections.
  • Maintaining accurate e-log books, field-level hazard assessments, and time sheets.
  • Participating in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Collaborating with team members professionally to ensure exceptional service delivery to both internal and external clients.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience operating a tandem axle winch truck, including loading/unloading and transporting heavy equipment with multi-axle configurations (jeeps/boosters/trailers).
  • Possession of a valid Class 1 driver's license with Air brake endorsement; candidates must provide a clean 5-year commercial drivers abstract.
  • Proven ability and experience operating winch tractors, wheeler trailers, and scissor neck trailers.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment in the oil and gas sector.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends.
  • Possession or willingness to obtain the following safety certifications: CSTS with OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance II, Bear Awareness.

Working Conditions

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, shine, or snow.
  • Be prepared to manage noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours a day.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations, experiencing a unique lifestyle on a rotational schedule, with accommodations provided.

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage of CA$ 46.00, commensurate with experience.
