About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to join our team in the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care portfolio of Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing psychological assessment and interventions, including psychotherapy, risk assessments, and making treatment recommendations to other members of the team and other healthcare providers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in rehabilitation and clinical health psychology, with experience working in organ transplant programs and conducting brief in-patient psychological assessments, psychological interventions, and consultation. You will also have demonstrated expertise in formulating and implementing treatment plans, as well as experience working independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.

About You
  • You have a doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology with a strong rehabilitation or clinical health psychology background.
  • You are registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP).
  • You have a minimum of 2 years training and experience working in rehabilitation and organ transplant programs.
  • You have familiarity with behavioral or rehabilitation programming, surgical candidacy assessment, and other clinical health psychology assessments and interventions.
  • You have demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating and implementing treatment plans, as well as experience working independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
