Public Service Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Public Service Assistant to join our team at the Ottawa Public Library. As a key member of our branch operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting library programs and services, and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide information, reference, and readers advisory services to library patrons
- Assist with circulation and page services, including registration, collecting fees, and responding to inquiries
- Perform routine collection maintenance duties, including sorting and shelving library materials
- Promote library services and programs to the community
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
- Completion of a 2-year college diploma in Library and Information Technician Program or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong customer service orientation
