Job Opportunity

BDO is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Montreal Business Restructuring and Turnaround Service office as a Manager or Senior Manager/Vice President. This role will involve working on and managing corporate restructuring engagements, requiring expertise in the field and an accounting/finance designation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising corporate clients, lenders, creditors, or shareholders through financial reviews, business turnarounds, and financial restructurings;
  • Developing business relationships with lenders, private equity, legal firms, and the business community;
  • Supervising staff, delegating tasks and projects as required, and developing the capabilities of less experienced staff through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer;
  • Preparing or managing the production of integrated cash flow models and analyzing cash flow models, projections, and business plans;
  • Ongoing communications with debtors, creditors, governmental regulators, and the Courts through stakeholder meetings, reports, and attendance at Court;
  • Identifying, targeting, and developing referral sources and assisting with practice development assignments;
  • Traveling to other BDO offices and off-site locations as required and being flexible to meet stakeholders during off-hours.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) program and having completed (or in the process of completing) the CIRP National Insolvency Examination (CNIE);
  • CPA accounting and/or senior finance designation required;
  • 8 or more years of previous experience within the Restructuring field;
  • Able to liaise well with staff and outside parties;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of insolvency rules, laws, and procedures;
  • Excellent spoken, written/verbal communication both in English and French;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint);
  • Advanced financial modeling skills;
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills;
  • Able to prioritize with the flexibility to manage workload demands and multiple tasks as required.
