Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Activity Aide to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities that promote socialization, recreation, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with the Supervisor to plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Preparation and Setup: Prepare activity areas and assist residents in accessing these spaces, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
  • Activity Facilitation and Support: Assist residents during activities, providing support and encouragement as needed, and reporting any significant changes or concerns to the Supervisor and nursing staff.
  • Record Keeping and Program Development: Maintain accurate records of activities and programs, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure that resident needs are met and that activities are aligned with our care home's goals and objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field.
  • Skills and Experience: Passion for helping others, excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge and experience in individual and group program planning, implementation, and evaluation for those with differences in cognitive abilities, and knowledge of working with senior populations.
