Position Overview:

Reports to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and timely cleaning of guest accommodations.
  • Verify that all rooms have been serviced by reviewing the daily reports from room attendants.
  • Manage urgent requests for room changes and ensure prompt action.
  • Conduct inspections of all vacated and occupied rooms to guarantee adherence to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of room statuses and communicate updates to the housekeeping team.
  • Monitor the quality of cleaned rooms through regular inspections and documentation.
  • Prepare maintenance requests for any necessary repairs or replacements of hotel furnishings.
  • Continuously check room statuses and inform cleaning staff of any changes.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of linen closets and supply rooms.
  • Supervise the proper storage of cleaning carts and equipment.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory checks of linens and supplies.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed, including securing linen chutes.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as front desk, engineering, and room service to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations at every opportunity.
  • Train and guide new housekeeping associates in their roles.
  • Uphold all housekeeping quality standards and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with other hotel departments to improve service delivery.
  • Assist in managing room inventory to optimize revenue while maintaining high guest satisfaction levels.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Regular attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet the operational needs of the hotel.
  • Adhere to all company rules and regulations for safe hotel operations.

Safety & Security Responsibilities:

  • Stay vigilant for any unauthorized individuals on hotel premises.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance while safeguarding confidential information.
  • Manage lost and found items appropriately.
  • Ensure proper handling and accountability of keys.
  • Follow protocols regarding bloodborne pathogens and emergency procedures.
  • Protect guest privacy and adhere to access policies for guest rooms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most tasks are performed indoors with a controlled environment.
  • Walking and standing are essential for nearly the entire workday.
  • Ability to navigate the hotel efficiently is required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and occasionally push/pull heavier items.
  • Tasks may involve bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Good hearing and vision are necessary for effective communication and inspection tasks.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least three years of housekeeping experience, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
