Lead Public Affairs and Government Relations at Telesat

Telesat, a pioneering global satellite solutions provider, is developing Telesat Lightspeed, a revolutionary Low Earth Orbit satellite network that will bridge the digital divide and connect everyone to high-speed Internet and 5G connectivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive public affairs and government relations strategies to shape policy and secure revenue backlog.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with government officials, regulators, agencies, and industry associations to influence decisions and advocate for Telesat's objectives.
  • Foster collaboration with Canada's defence community to secure meaningful partnerships with the Department of National Defence, NORAD, and NATO.
  • Communicate complex technical subjects to diverse audiences, including governments and policymakers.
  • Conduct research and analysis on government policies, programs, legislation, and regulations, providing strategic guidance to senior management.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working in public affairs, management consulting, or government.
  • Bilingual with strong oral and writing skills in both official languages.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in an international environment and interface with Executive Management.
  • Comfortable engaging with and presenting to executive and CEO audiences.
