Sessional Instructor: Canadian Art: The Modern Era

This is an exciting opportunity to join the OCAD University community as a Sessional Instructor for the course Canadian Art: The Modern Era. The successful candidate will have the chance to teach and mentor students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Course Description:This course explores the development of modern art in Canada through a post-colonial lens. Students will examine the work of the Group of Seven, Quebec artists, and First Nations artists, and analyze how they contributed to the country's cultural identity.
Responsibilities:- Teaching and teaching-related responsibilities may include course outline development, studio preparation, and delivery of lectures, critiques, and evaluations.
- Responsibility for health and safety and meeting academic and curricular requirements and deadlines.
- A terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional/practical experience.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment.
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
