Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join the Orthopaedics and Trauma team at Vancouver General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including clerical duties and receptionist functions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Perform a variety of tasks, such as transcribing orders, coordinating appointments, and maintaining client charts.
- Assist with inventory management, filing, and other administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
Qualifications
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
