We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our Food Services department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the preparation, assembly, and delivery of patient meals, guest meals, and catering events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the preparation and delivery of patient meals and snacks, guest meals, and catering events
- Monitor and maintain quality and safety standards in the food service area
- Manage staff schedules and attendance, and ensure adequate staffing levels
- Interview and hire staff as needed
- Enter staff payroll and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
- Food Service Technology course or equivalent required
- Graduate of a 4-year nutrition degree preferred
- Food Handlers course and WHMIS an asset
- Experience in implementing strategies for healthy eating and revenue generation
- Excellent leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Proven skills in customer service
- Superior supervision and decision-making skills
- Competencies in other languages are considered an asset
