Job Summary

The Personal Support Worker is a vital member of our home care team, working under the supervision of the Care Coordinator to provide various personal care services to meet the client's needs. This role requires a caring and empathetic individual who can build strong relationships with our clients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, ensuring the client's dignity and comfort are maintained.
  • Prepare meals and snacks, taking into account any dietary restrictions or preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, maintaining a clean and safe environment for the client.
  • Accompany clients on outings, providing companionship and support.
  • Assist with shopping and errands, helping clients maintain their independence.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management.
  • Provide ambulation and transportation support, ensuring the client's safety and mobility.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Document and chart client progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Qualifications
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student).
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain.
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
  • Ability to travel around the location territory.
  • Access to internet/mobile phone.
