Prevention Coordinator – La Ronge, SK

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Prevention Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Child and Family Services department, you will play a vital role in implementing child protection and family support initiatives that promote the well-being and safety of children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement prevention and child protection services that address the unique needs of children and families in our community.
- Collaborate with parents and families to address issues that may pose a risk to children's safety or well-being.
- Provide support and resources to families to remediate issues and create a safe environment for children.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate client files, documenting all factual evidence and case decisions in accordance with established protocols.
- Determine the level of risk to the personal safety of children in child protection cases.
- Complete written risk assessments for all child protection files using the Structured Decision Making (SDM) tools.
- Use these assessments to inform decisions and actions related to child protection.
- Diploma/Certificate in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Child and Family Studies).
- 5 years previous experience in child protection and family support services.
- Knowledge of and adherence to the Saskatchewan Child & Family Services Act and other relevant legal mandates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Valid Saskatchewan Driver's license.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Screening check.
