Position Overview: Plains is seeking a qualified Pipeline Technician to join our camp-based pipeline operations in the Rainbow Lake – Zama area. This role will report directly to the Area Supervisor of Crude Pipelines.
Work Schedule: This position involves a rotating shift of 8 days on and 6 days off, totaling 80 hours over 8 days, with a Tuesday-Tuesday rotation.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in pipeline operations, area-based projects, and maintenance of processes and pipelines.
- Adhere to preventative maintenance programs and guidelines for all pipelines and process equipment.
- Ensure compliance with sampling, measurement, and tank gauging procedures to verify inventory balances.
- Follow company safety practices, procedures, and policies diligently.
- Generate service requests, track and complete work orders, and maintain detailed logs in MAXIMO.
- Operate light machinery, including skid steers, forklifts, man-lifts, plow trucks, and picker trucks.
- Conduct periodic inspections and calibrations of process equipment, along with general site maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Industry Regulatory Directives and Ground Disturbance programs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain process equipment, assisting craftsmen with related tasks.
- Experience in pipeline or battery operations with a mechanical aptitude for process equipment.
- Preference for candidates with 3-5+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong computer skills and problem-solving abilities, particularly with Microsoft, Excel, Workday, and MAXIMO.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to collaborate with various craftsmen and contractors for maintenance and operational tasks.
- Permanent residency within the designated area is preferred.
- A valid class 5 license is required.
- Clear criminal history and satisfactory reference checks are mandatory.
- Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy, including pre-employment testing.
