Holcim operates in the construction sector and is currently looking for a seasonal, full-time Screed Operator.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to:
- Proficiently operating the screed on a paver.
- Collaborating with team members to effectively manage paver operations.
- Conducting maintenance and repairs on the paver as directed by the foreman or lead hand.
- Engaging in physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, bending, and twisting.
- Assisting with various job functions as required.
- Upholding the safety of colleagues, the community, and the environment.
- Completing daily equipment inspections and checklists.
- Monitoring and ensuring the asphalt thickness meets specifications.
- Overseeing material production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintaining a consistent feed to produce a high-quality product.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, prioritize safety, and communicate effectively within a team environment. This role is physically demanding and requires activities such as crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. A pre-employment medical assessment is necessary. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of adhering to safety protocols and conducting field risk assessments.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a screed.
- Familiarity with local specifications.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of the surrounding area.
- Ability to interpret survey markings.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate sound judgment, prioritize safety, and communicate effectively within a team environment. This position is physically demanding and requires activities such as crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. A pre-employment medical assessment is necessary. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of adhering to safety protocols and conducting field risk assessments.
