Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective execution of all relevant BC SPCA programs and services within the assigned communities. The Senior Manager will work closely with various departments to facilitate the implementation of provincial initiatives at the local level, which encompasses animal services, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and humane education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with provincial teams to guarantee the smooth execution of BC SPCA programs and services.
- Establish annual strategic and operational objectives that align with the overarching Strategic Plan.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members, providing guidance and support to ensure targets are met.
- Act as the community representative for BC SPCA programs, utilizing effective change management strategies to enhance implementation success.
- Champion health, safety, and wellness within the area, ensuring compliance with legal health and safety standards.
- Analyze performance metrics and provide necessary feedback and training to improve outcomes.
- Identify and address community needs, fostering positive relationships and promoting BC SPCA's mission.
- Ensure effective communication and accountability within the Animal Centre regarding Large Scale Animal Intake (LSAI) operations.
- Represent BC SPCA at community events and in media engagements.
- Manage the area budget and contribute to departmental budgeting processes.
- Maintain physical facilities and assist with capital improvement requests.
- Develop business cases for new initiatives and present them to relevant authorities.
- Engage in fundraising activities and support organizational fundraising efforts.
- Address escalated stakeholder inquiries and concerns as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in Business, Management, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven leadership skills with a history of developing high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic and creative thinking abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders positively and respectfully.
- Ability to resolve conflicts effectively and deliver compelling presentations.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office.
- Alignment with the vision and mission of the BC SPCA.
