Transdev Ontario Manitoba is seeking a skilled and proactive Operations Manager for our Student Transportation division. This pivotal role is based in London, Ontario and reports directly to the General Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations ensuring adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while enhancing customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
  • Manage vehicle efficiency and minimize unnecessary travel.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Direct dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation services.
  • Organize and manage staff workflows to align with organizational standards.
  • Implement changes to schedules and policies as needed.
  • Facilitate effective start-up and shut-down processes for the school year.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to develop and execute policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Work with the Health & Safety team to investigate transportation incidents and enhance safety protocols.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, customer satisfaction surveys, and deficiency lists.
  • Coordinate with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Lead safety meetings and bi-annual driver meetings.
  • Manage divisional budget and payroll administration.
  • Mentor and motivate team members while addressing conflict management.

Customer Engagement:

  • Act as the primary contact for daily operational inquiries.
  • Contribute to new business quoting and ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Oversee communication regarding operational processes and data integrity within the dispatch system.
  • Represent Transdev in community events to enhance visibility and build strong customer relationships.

Reporting Duties:

  • Accountable for KPIs related to both schools and charter services.
  • Oversee customer satisfaction reporting.

Driver Management:

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage the deficiency list.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and bi-annual driver gatherings.

Financial Oversight:

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
  • Oversee payroll processes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an ambassador for Transdev both on and off company premises.
  • Participate in community events to bolster Transdev's presence.

Qualifications:

  • A University or Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role within an operational setting.
  • Experience in Student Transportation or related fields is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a B class License.
  • Possess a clean Drivers Abstract and clear Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong facilitation skills for group meetings.
  • Willingness to pursue further education as needed.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen.
  • Ability to travel within Ontario.
  • Strong business insight and communication skills.
  • A natural leader focused on the success of both employees and customers.
