We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud-based systems and applications for our client in Newmarket, ON.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and services to meet client needs.
- Architect cloud-native solutions for data warehousing, application hosting, and microservices aligned with business goals and security requirements.
- Develop and execute cloud strategies focusing on cost-efficiency, security, and performance optimization for clients.
- Recommend Docker and Kubernetes containerization strategies and guide teams on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps best practices.
- Lead cloud adoption and migration projects from start to finish, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Continuously monitor cloud environments, perform regular reviews, and adjust solutions to meet evolving business needs and ensure reliability.
- Continuously evaluate new cloud technologies and tools to enhance architecture designs, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Create technical documentation, provide training on cloud best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on modern cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Expertise in modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks.
- Strong grasp of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling techniques for effective data architecture.
- Familiarity with modern ETL/ELT tools, including DBT for data transformation and integration (nice to have).
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Deep understanding of data governance and security best practices to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral organizational and leadership skills.
