The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a skilled Winter Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Winter Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating snow removal equipment such as snowplows, graders, and loaders to maintain safe and accessible roads during the winter season.
Key Responsibilities- Operate snow removal equipment such as snowplows, graders, and loaders to clear roads and maintain safe and accessible routes
- Perform general maintenance of equipment, including pre-and-post trip inspections and daily logs
- Work in a mechanical environment and perform other tasks as required, such as maintaining signs, road surface repairs, and traffic control
- Work in all weather conditions and be flexible with work schedules
- Two years of experience or an acceptable equivalency of education, training, and relevant experience
- Minimum of Class III license with air brake endorsement
- Reading and writing skills to understand department documentation and complete daily logs, inspection reports, etc.
