Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Fabric Migration Data Engineer to join our team at Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. as a full-time, fixed-term contract position.

Job Description

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the migration of our client's existing Microsoft Synapse Data and Analytics Infrastructure to Microsoft Fabric. This will involve developing a comprehensive migration plan, documenting the inventory of current data, analytics, and technology assets, and prioritizing migration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a migration plan to prioritize migration tasks and ensure a smooth transition to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Document the inventory of current data, analytics, and technology assets to inform the migration plan.
  • Collaborate with the client's team to identify and implement the necessary components to support the migration, including Azure, Synapse, Databricks, PowerBI, and CI/CD.
  • Provide consultation and guidance on Azure Fabric Capacity architecture to support Fabric services, including enterprise reporting, scalable report development, and expanded citizen data analysis and report development.
  • Assess Microsoft Fabric's federated data governance capabilities for data sharing with provincial health partner entities.
  • Design, build, and deploy a Fabric Proof of Concept (PoC) to demonstrate Fabric capabilities and provide a sandbox for learning and exploration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Fabric architecture and implementation.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Data & Analytics architecture and implementation.
  • Proficiency in data documentation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric in a BC healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
  • Experience with Synapse Data & Analytics: 2 years.
  • Experience with data privacy and security standards: 3 years.

What We Offer

  • Up to $70.00 per hour.
  • Flexible language requirement.
  • Monday to Friday schedule.
