The SCRUM Master serves as a servant leader, guiding teams towards self-organization and the adoption of an agile mindset. This role requires expertise in various agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, XP, and Disciplined Agile. The SCRUM Master aids teams in defining their operational processes and facilitates their journey of continuous improvement. As a facilitator, this individual creates an environment conducive to successful value delivery, ensuring teams remain focused on their objectives, eliminating obstacles, and promoting enterprise awareness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as SCRUM Master for one or two teams, emphasizing guidance on agile principles, self-organization, collaboration, and ongoing improvement. Assist teams in maintaining focus on their commitments and delivering high-quality value. Proactively address obstacles to minimize their impact on commitments and enhance value delivery. Support teams in establishing their operational processes and ensure adherence. Facilitate essential team meetings (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives). Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy product backlog and provide coaching on the Product Owner's responsibilities. Ensure coordination across teams with other SCRUM Masters and manage dependencies with external contributors. Coach teams on effective planning and estimation techniques. Promote systemic thinking and enterprise awareness among teams. Track and report on relevant team metrics, monitoring progress towards project milestones. Actively engage in the Agile Community of Practice. Support the organization in adopting an agile mindset and practices. Serve as a change agent within the organization.QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Experience
Minimum of four years in a leadership role (e.g., SCRUM Master) with agile teams across various initiatives, applying and reinforcing agile methodologies. At least five years of experience in Information Technology. Experience in a large organizational setting is highly valued. Background in the banking sector is advantageous.Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience. SCRUM Master Certification (e.g., CSM, PSM, SSM) or Kanban certification (e.g., TKP, KMP, PSK). Disciplined Agile Certification (e.g., CDA, DALSM, DASM) is a plus.Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Kanban, JIT, Lean principles, Disciplined Agile, XP, SAFe, Nexus, etc. Strong leadership, facilitation, and coaching abilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Pragmatic mindset with a systemic approach. Familiarity with various IT domains. Knowledge of the Azure DevOps platform is an asset.Soft Skills
Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to build and manage relationships effectively in a matrix environment. Self-motivated and organized. Strong prioritization skills. Adaptability to changing environments.Language Proficiency
