About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter and Processor to join our team at Anne Street Variety. As a key member of our grocery store team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Processing Meat: Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting, cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, and wrap and package prepared meats.
  • Meat Handling and Preparation: Remove bones from meat, weigh meats for sale, grind meats, and prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.
  • Slaughter and Processing: Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses, remove feathers and singe and wash poultry to prepare for further processing or packaging.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and management, and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Work Environment: Cold/refrigerated.
  • Work Setting: Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment.
  • Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, hand-eye coordination, repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, and sitting.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, team player, work term: permanent, work language: English, and hours: 30 to 35 hours per week.
