At Otter Co-op, we're seeking a skilled Meat Associate to join our team at the Parallel Food Store in Abbotsford, BC. As a key member of our meat department, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality products for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a clean and organized meat department, adhering to strict food safety and handling procedures.
- Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, poultry, fish, and shellfish for sale.
- Grind meats using powered grinders and slicing machines, ensuring precise cuts and presentation.
- Shape, lace, and tie roasts and other meats, poultry, or fish, and may wrap prepared meats, poultry, fish, and shellfish.
- Prepare and package product for sale, ensuring accurate labeling and pricing.
- Stock product to cases and shelves, maintaining a visually appealing display.
- Load and unload product, adhering to safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Perform clean-up duties as required, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
- Previous meat department experience is an asset, but not required; we'll provide on-site training.
- Experience in meat cutting is an asset, but not required; we'll provide on-site training.
- Motivation to learn and grow within the role, with a strong desire to provide exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform physical job duties, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Must have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts, 7 days a week.
