Millwright Technician

About the Role

As a Millwright at Drake International, you will play a pivotal role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical issues on production lines, including mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment and replacing faulty or worn mechanical components.
  • Regularly complete preventative maintenance checklists.
  • Ensure machinery complies with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Request spare parts and maintain detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Licensed millwright 433A, certified to work in Ontario.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, food and packaging preferred.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance shop equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic controls, high-speed packaging equipment, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Understanding of packaging line setup, palletizers, tube lines, and mixers.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to effectively read specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints.
  • Boiler experience is an asset.
