Job Summary

BCIT's School of Business and Media is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.66 FTE) Faculty member to teach in the marketing management diploma and provide related service teaching to other diplomas in the School in our digital marketing and related courses.

Courses are taught on weekdays, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, in person and on campus in Burnaby, from September to May. Courses may include:

  • MKTG 1352 Digital Marketing
  • MKTG 3010 Marketing in the Attention Economy
  • MKTG 4431 Digital Marketing
  • MKTG 4345 Social Media Research for Radio Arts & Entertainment

The hiring committee is seeking an industry expert with a passion for teaching and learning and strong commitment to ensuring students develop applied skills and specialized knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in digital marketing including success developing and deploying online marketing strategies; and building owned, earned, and paid media campaigns for acquisition, conversion, retention, and growth objectives, both for consumer and B2B audiences.

Experience across digital marketing tactics, including SEO, paid search, display advertising, and social media marketing is required. They should also have a strong foundation in consumer behaviour and experience with customer-centric marketing, from market segmentation through developing customer insights, customer journey maps, data- and empathy-driven user personas, as well as a proven track record of deploying these insights in successful tactical marketing communications campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:
  • Marketing credential required; BCIT business diploma an asset.
  • A minimum of 8 years proven success working in related roles.
  • Instructional experience at a polytechnic or similar applied institution is preferred; and/or experience with professional coaching or other adult learning environments.
  • An established network of relevant professional contacts in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond.
  • Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collegial environment.
