Job Title: Farm Labourer

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Farm Labourer to join our team at Pennwood Dairy Inc. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to farm maintenance, animal care, and crop management. This includes fertilizing and spraying crops, feeding and tending to animals, operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment, and detecting disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.

Responsibilities:
  • Fertilize and spray crops
  • Feed and tend animals
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Milk cows
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Physically demanding
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work outdoors in a rural area, with exposure to wet/damp and cold/refrigerated conditions.
