Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Prep Coverage Teacher to join our team at School District #85 (Vancouver Island North). The successful candidate will have a strong background in primary and intermediate teaching, with experience in classroom management, multi-age group instruction, and differentiated learning strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction to students in a prep coverage capacity
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Utilize formative assessment practices to inform instruction and improve student outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve student achievement
- Embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices
Requirements:
- BC Certification
- Primary and intermediate teaching experience
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills
- Experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems
- Ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning
- Strong interest in innovation and inquiry
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $64,368 to $112,637
- Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance: $3,035 over ten months
