Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions in our heavy equipment, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of the repair required.
- Order and Maintain Inventory: Order parts and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies to ensure that our equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
- Adjust and Repair Equipment: Adjust and repair equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and efficiently.
- Keep Maintenance Reports: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on our equipment.
- Test and Inspect Repaired Equipment: Test and inspect repaired equipment to ensure that it meets manufacturers' specifications and is safe for use.
- Clean and Lubricate Equipment: Clean and lubricate equipment to prevent wear and tear and ensure that it continues to function properly.
- Perform Repair Work on Heavy Trucks: Perform repair work on heavy trucks, including servicing attachments and working tools.
- Verify and Repair Emission Control Systems: Verify and repair emission control systems to ensure that our equipment is operating within regulatory requirements.
- Driver's License (Class 3 or D): Possess a valid driver's license (Class 3 or D) and a clean driving record.
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement: Possess an Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
- Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T): Possess a Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T).
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate: Possess a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate: Possess a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Possess experience in diesel engine repair, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems.
- Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Possess experience in powered equipment repair, including cable-operated working attachments, hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors, pumps, telescopic ladders, electric generators, and industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts.
- Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Specialization: Possess experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, including drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, differentials, and brake systems.
- Physically Demanding: The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Bending, Crouching, Kneeling: The position requires the ability to bend, crouch, and kneel to perform maintenance and repairs.
