Position OverviewWe are seeking a Staff Accountant with a focus on Tax Compliance and Advisory to enhance our financial team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare intricate and specialized tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Assist in the development and refinement of internal tax compliance procedures and policies.
- Prepare various tax elections and submissions.
- Support responses to CRA inquiries and assessments.
- Assist with CRA audits for personal tax clients.
- Prepare voluntary disclosures related to corporate and personal tax matters.
- Conduct thorough tax research to ensure compliance and optimization.
- Participate in relevant workshops and conferences to stay informed on corporate tax developments.
- A University degree or College diploma specializing in Accounting is required.
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Familiarity with TaxPrep software is a significant advantage.
- Progress towards the CPA designation is encouraged.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
