Course Details

Course Title: FCD 121 Design Literacy I
Estimated Student Enrollment: 240 students
Course Format: Online, in-person, or hybrid, determined by the hiring unit.

Employment Conditions

As a condition of employment, candidates must provide valid proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or comply with the university's health policies. In-person instructors are expected to conduct classes on campus, while remote instructors must possess the necessary technology, including a computer with a camera and microphone, as well as high-speed internet access.

Qualifications Required

Educational Background:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
- MBA or equivalent
- Terminal degree (PhD) in another discipline
- Master’s degree.

Teaching Experience:
- Experience teaching similar courses at graduate or undergraduate levels, either at Toronto Metropolitan University or other institutions.

Professional Experience:
- Recent practice in the relevant field (within the last 3 years) with significant responsibility and relevant professional accreditation.

Professional Currency:
- Recent academic publications (refereed) within the last 5 years or other demonstrated professional engagement.

Interactive Skills:
- Evaluation of teaching effectiveness based on previous ratings in lecture presentation, email communication, and assignment follow-through.
