Job Title: Program Instructor, Education

Canada Lands Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Instructor to join our team. As a Program Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education programs to elementary, middle, and secondary students with an environmental focus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver curriculum-based education programs that promote environmental awareness and education.
  • Lead community groups through outdoor education activities, fostering a sense of community and environmental stewardship.
  • Ensure that programs are delivered smoothly by preparing all required supplies and resources, and maintaining clean and well-organized programming spaces.
  • Collaborate with the Education Manager to develop programs and teaching tools, create educational displays and learning centers, and provide feedback on program effectiveness.
  • Support the Education Manager in building and maintaining partnerships with the park community, teachers, educational institutions, governmental agencies, and community groups.
  • Take direction from and provide advice to the Education Manager on the efficient implementation of programs.
  • Assist the Education Manager in planning, developing, and facilitating programming for the community.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in education, environmental studies, science, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience teaching or delivering programs, preferably outdoors.
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers or Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is required by start date.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required.
Working Conditions:

Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads. Ability to work flexible hours, as needed. Work environment includes in-office, in-classroom, and outdoors; must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to work in a physical capacity requiring extended periods of standing, moderate lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching.
