Your Role

As a Senior Research Advisor within the Research and Innovation Services division, you will leverage your expertise in research to promote and advance the groundbreaking initiatives at Stantec. This full-time, permanent position is integral to our Innovation Office, where you will engage with cutting-edge science and technology projects and facilitate access to governmental funding opportunities.

Your primary responsibility will be to support the strategic objective of our team, which focuses on initiating, establishing, promoting, evaluating, and enhancing research services throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate stakeholders on the strategic application of research funding programs to bolster technical capabilities.
  • Manage the annual process of developing claims for research funding, ensuring effective collaboration among team members.
  • Assist technical leaders in identifying eligible research activities and consolidating them into cohesive projects.
  • Guide researchers in articulating the eligibility of their work for funding.
  • Analyze costs associated with potential claims to quantify the organization's investment in research.
  • Review technical documentation and claims submissions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Address additional funding-related tasks as required by regulatory reviews.
  • Implement research service programs that draw on your experience to strengthen Stantec's position in the industry.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on clarity and precision.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities to assist technical experts in crafting project descriptions.
  • Robust technical knowledge with an understanding of advanced technologies across various sectors.
  • Experience in conducting research within a technical consulting environment.
  • Proficient in remote collaboration through digital communication tools.
  • Ability to manage administrative functions while concentrating on strategic initiatives.

Education

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred.
