We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of reducing the burden of cancer in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assessing patients and developing individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient reactions and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, documenting vital signs, medical history, and treatment outcomes.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals and programs as required, ensuring comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
