Your role within our organization

The Senior Electrical Systems Specialist position encompasses the leadership and execution of various maintenance, installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning tasks routinely performed by the Field Services team on high voltage systems. The Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with their team and clients to ensure the successful completion of projects. This role is ideal for individuals with substantial experience in utility electrical systems. Candidates with practical experience, who can think critically and value delivering a superior customer experience, will be preferred for this position.

Opportunities you will have...

Conduct maintenance on protection and control systems. Perform maintenance on high voltage equipment. Manage client relationships and the quality of professional services. Prepare service proposals. Supervise worksite projects executed at client facilities. Establish safety protocols and criteria. Create commissioning documentation. Engage in the execution of detailed engineering projects. Develop technical documents, calculation notes, and estimates. Work in outdoor settings in remote areas. Implement established work methods and pursue their enhancement. Oversee client relationships and the quality of professional services.

Overview of qualifications and job requirements

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education.
7-15 years of relevant experience in electrical apparatus maintenance and testing.
7-15 years of relevant experience in protection relay programming and testing.
7-15 years of relevant experience in control system testing.
Must be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (hot and cold).
Must be capable of driving on winter roads, in remote areas, and on forest service roads.
Must be comfortable working in isolated locations with limited communication means.
Must be able to consistently lift 70lbs.

Work Schedule:

Shift based on client requirements. Fly in / fly out rotations. Typical shifts are two weeks on, one week off.
