Opportunity Overview

At SECURE Energy, we deliver waste management solutions throughout the Fort McMurray Oilsands region. The Dispatch Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating communication and coordinating the transport of bins to and from customer sites with our drivers across the area.

Daily Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and documenting customer calls
  • Collecting customer information to create work order packages (including work orders, manifests, etc.)
  • Utilizing various electronic systems to accomplish daily tasks (CRO, HMM, ARI, ITRAX)
  • Scheduling and dispatching drivers effectively
  • Assisting in the processing of completed work orders
  • Overseeing driver pickups and deliveries
  • Maintaining a customer-centric approach to foster strong client and employee relationships
  • Organizing and maintaining project documentation
  • Additional duties include:
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance and assisting management and drivers with truck, trailer, and bin upkeep.
  • Collaborating with department management and site teams to ensure timely task completion
  • Performing yard and shop tasks, including equipment operation such as forklifts, skid steers, and small loaders, while maintaining cleanliness in the wash bay and shop.
  • Running errands for parts and project supplies from local vendors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-5 years of experience in dispatch or project coordination
  • Post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, business, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the waste management industry
  • Preferred CDL Driver License (Class 1 or 3)
  • Knowledge of local roads, dangerous goods routes, and road restrictions
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Strong customer service orientation, with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, with a knack for gathering and analyzing information to resolve issues swiftly
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required
  • High attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information reliably
