Position Summary:We are seeking a Manager of Product Management & Sourcing who will be pivotal in understanding the intricacies of the Canadian market concerning product offerings and supply sources. This role is responsible for crafting a tailored product strategy and sourcing plan that aligns with country-specific goals for revenue enhancement, cost efficiency, and profit margins. The individual will oversee the implementation of these strategies.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and manage the specific product offerings for the Canadian market.
- Create comprehensive business plans for new product introductions and oversee their lifecycle management.
- Establish a sourcing strategy aimed at optimizing cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the Canadian business and coordinate with Product Management and Purchasing teams.
- Tailor the product assortment to meet customer demands and align with corporate objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research and analyze data to uncover opportunities and potential risks affecting the product range.
- Implement pricing and branding strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and inventory management.
- Design and engage in promotional initiatives to boost product visibility and market share.
- Monitor and report on product categories to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance market presence.
- Coordinate product management functions across various departments and branches.
- Ensure a reliable and high-quality vendor network.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal product quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
- Collaborate with sales teams and customers to gain insights into market requirements.
- Develop surveys and consult with management on marketing strategies.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or product management within a distribution or manufacturing context.
- APICS Certification (CPIM) or equivalent is mandatory.
- Proficient in developing index-based costing methodologies based on global market indicators.
- Expertise in negotiating cost models with suppliers to manage risks and enhance margins.
- Ability to align supplier agreements with sales and purchasing benefits.
- Strong analytical capabilities, leveraging data to address challenges and enhance processes.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems and the ability to generate management reports from large data sets.
- Competence in presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Self-driven with a capacity to lead decision-making in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success in similar roles within Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Product Management.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of MRO items such as fasteners, cutting tools, and electrical supplies is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications; experience with SAP is a plus.
