Bakery Specialist Job Description

Hare Foods Ltd. is seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dough and batters for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Bake mixed dough and batters to meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Prepare special orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Collaborate with sales and merchandising teams to optimize baked goods sales.
Support for Diverse Groups:
  • Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition and mentorship programs.
  • Offer on-the-job training and mentorship opportunities for youth.
  • Develop relationships with indigenous communities and organizations to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide awareness training and mentorship opportunities for mature workers.
  • Apply hiring policies that promote diversity and inclusion, such as anonymizing the hiring process.
Work Environment:
  • Work in a fast-paced bakery environment with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of production staff, sales, and merchandising teams.
  • Work 35 hours per week in a permanent position.
  • Communicate effectively in English with colleagues and customers.
