About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Pro Vita Care Management. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a nursing home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medications: Safely administer medications to patients, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring for potential side effects.
  • Apply Aseptic Techniques: Utilize sterile dressing and aseptic techniques to prevent infection and promote a clean environment.
  • Conduct Specimen Collection: Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Ensure Infection Control: Implement and maintain infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illness and disease.
  • Monitor Nutritional Intake: Assess and monitor patients' nutritional needs, ensuring adequate intake and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Observe and Record Medication Effects: Monitor patients' responses to medications, recording and reporting any adverse effects or concerns.
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Assist surgeons and medical teams with instrument setup, gowning, and gloving, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Provide Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Care: Offer emotional support and comfort to patients before and after surgery, promoting a positive and calming environment.
  • Monitor Established Respiratory Therapy and IV Therapy: Continuously monitor patients receiving respiratory therapy and IV therapy, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide Safety and Health Education: Educate patients and their families on healthy habits, disease prevention, and safety protocols, promoting a culture of wellness.
  • Provide Nursing Services: Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients, based on individual assessments and care plans, ensuring optimal health outcomes.
  • Monitor Patients' Progress: Regularly evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans and consulting with healthcare teams as needed.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Licensure: Be eligible for licensure as a practical nurse in the province/territory of work.
  • Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination: Have completed the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.
  • CPR and First Aid Certificates: Hold current CPR and First Aid certificates.
  • Geriatrics Experience: Have experience working with geriatric patients, preferably in a long-term care setting.
