Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bartender to join our team at Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain the bar area, including washing glassware and ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Staff Management: Hire and dismiss staff as needed, and supervise food and beverage servers and other staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Training and Development: Train staff on bar operations, including ordering and inventory management, and ensure that all staff are knowledgeable about our menu and services.
  • Cash Handling: Collect cash, credit, and debit payments for beverages and maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
  • Inventory Management: Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock to ensure that we have the necessary supplies to meet customer demand.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce provincial and territorial liquor legislation and regulations to ensure that our bar is operating in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Drink Preparation: Prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft and bottled beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standard, using fresh and high-quality ingredients.
  • Customer Service: Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure that our patrons have a positive experience.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
