Salary Range: $79,388 - $100,203

Position Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday)

Location: Remote or Hybrid options available

Relocation: Willingness to relocate within the designated regions is required.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Business Solutions Analyst plays a pivotal role in gathering and comprehending business needs, translating them into clear documentation that can be utilized by feature teams and stakeholders in an agile framework. This position collaborates closely with the Product Owner to grasp business priorities, workflows, user interactions, and system integrations. The Analyst serves as a bridge between the business sector and the delivery teams, ensuring that business requirements are effectively communicated and documented for implementation in projects or software development.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Analysis

  • Collaborates with business and technology partners to gather, analyze, and document user stories.
  • Maps out business processes and collaborates with stakeholders to develop epics, features, and user stories.
  • Assists the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and prioritizing tasks.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements through new technologies or innovative uses of existing systems.
  • Documents business requirements and the relationships between application components.
  • Maintains relationships with key stakeholders to stay informed about changes in business procedures.
  • Ensures business artifacts are systematically organized in a requirements repository.
  • Works with delivery teams to establish and uphold testing protocols and guidelines.
  • Creates acceptance criteria for user stories to clarify expected outcomes.
  • Ensures test cases cover all acceptance criteria.
  • Tracks requirements through user stories and testing artifacts.
  • Identifies defect trends to enhance testing processes.
  • Assists in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for business delivery teams.
  • Collaborates with other teams to ensure compatibility and integration of business services.
  • Translates business challenges into actionable insights for delivery teams.
  • Facilitates workshops and sessions with delivery teams and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stays updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance software development processes.
  • Engages with business partners to improve business and development KPIs.
  • Participates in retrospectives to identify and implement process enhancements.

Deployment and Maintenance

  • Collaborates with technology and business partners to plan production releases.
  • Monitors business and application KPI metrics for changes.
  • Works with teams to validate and prioritize production issues.

Interactions

  • Provides input for prioritizing functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensures thorough documentation of requirements with business partners.
  • Offers feedback for testing processes and application performance monitoring.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Expertise in eliciting various types of requirements including business, technical, and testing.
  • In-depth understanding of software development lifecycles and project delivery methodologies.
  • Proficient in documenting epics, features, and user stories.
  • Strong skills in validation processes to ensure testing meets acceptance criteria.
  • Solid knowledge of project management fundamentals and core insurance principles.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • A four-year degree in a relevant field such as Business, Information Technology, or Mathematics.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CBAP or CCBA are preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in business analysis.
