Role Overview
As a pivotal member of the Supply Chain Projects team, the Supply Chain Project Engineer is essential for the advancement and maintenance of distribution initiatives. This role involves managing technical specifications and supporting procurement and execution processes, ensuring the successful delivery of various programs and projects.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Project Engineering Manager, this position plays a vital role in the engineering team, focusing on continuous operational enhancements. Key responsibilities include analyzing and executing capital projects aimed at optimizing product flow within Distribution Center Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Formulate business cases, define requirements, and conduct cost-benefit analyses for capital projects. Ensure effective project management practices are employed, overseeing scope, quality, timelines, and budgets. Identify, develop, and lead projects that drive efficiency and cost-saving improvements. Present strategies, updates, and findings to stakeholders at all levels. Manage all capital investment requests, including documentation and analysis. Proficient in PLC Programming, including Allen Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, RSLogix 5000, and related control systems. Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies. Familiarity with Supply Chain or Distribution Center operations and processes. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Material Handling Equipment systems. Knowledge of robotics and energy-efficient systems is advantageous. Understanding of building codes and electrical regulations is essential. Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks effectively. Ensure comprehensive planning, scheduling, and communication for all process modifications. Validate post-project savings and maintain project schedules and deliverables. Prepare detailed CAD drawings and documentation as required. Collaborate with operational teams to document and implement changes. Develop new processes for existing and new equipment. Assist in optimizing product flow and material handling processes. Provide support to maintenance teams in troubleshooting equipment issues. Collaborate closely with various internal teams and stakeholders. Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary.Qualifications
Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. Professional Engineer designation or equivalent professional experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation is preferred. Minimum of 5 years' experience in large-scale industrial facilities. At least 3 years of project management experience, with structured training in project management methodologies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Proficient in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD. Ability to adapt to operational schedules and ensure minimal disruption to Supply Chain operations. Capacity to balance maintenance and operational needs while ensuring stakeholder engagement.Additional Information
Experience in a distribution production or office environment is preferred. Occasional travel may be required.Work Model
