Operations Manager Job Description

Adecco Canada is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our client's production shop in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing efficiency and quality through Lean Manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Coordinate Production: Oversee the production shop to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing: Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing strategies to prevent and resolve production issues.
  • Lead a Customer-Oriented Team: Develop a customer-focused manufacturing team that aligns with our company culture.
  • Measure and Communicate Key Performance Indicators: Establish and assess employee performance, and communicate key performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Schedule Work and Plan Resource Allocation: Schedule work in accordance with contracts and client expectations, and plan resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support Health and Safety Initiatives: Promote a zero-harm culture and support health and safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Lead Operational Studies and Audits: Conduct operational studies to identify and resolve process-related issues, and oversee audits for compliance.
  • Define Objectives and Manage Budget: Define objectives and manage budget requests to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Foster Collaboration: Foster collaboration with Sales, Application Engineering, Product Engineering, and Product Management teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Legal Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations Management.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in operations and Lean management.
  • Skills: Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, ISO norms, and Six Sigma; exceptional leadership and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
