Job Summary

Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and certified Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems, access control systems, and intercom systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Installation and Maintenance: Perform rack-up, programming, verification, and inspection of fire alarm systems, access control systems, and intercom systems.
  • Service and Repair: Perform inspections and service on Mircom and non-Mircom products.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers as needed.
  • Training and Education: Provide operational training to end-users.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Mircom.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals.
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience: Technicians shall have 3-5 years of experience within the Fire Alarm industry.
  • Education: Electronics diploma or equivalent from accredited college/university or documented and demonstrated trade qualification.
  • Certification: Technicians shall have Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Registration or comparable qualification.
  • Language: Fluent in English and French (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge and Competency: Knowledge of Mircom systems is an asset. Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license (Class G).
