The RFID and Barcode Systems Technician will be tasked with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of RFID and Barcode systems, software, personal computer networks, and associated peripheral devices. The technician will evaluate user training requirements and instruct users on the effective use of standard applications; provide recommendations regarding hardware and software utilization; prepare documentation and offer user support to clients; and perform related duties as necessary.

Your Responsibilities Include...

· Conduct site assessments utilizing industry-standard software to design wireless systems tailored to the client's environment.
· Implement, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade RFID and Barcode systems and associated software.
· Prepare and configure mobile computing devices, wireless network infrastructure, and data collection equipment such as printers and scanners; manage cabling and oversee rewiring for new installations and reconfigurations.
· Assess service requirements and exercise sound judgment in determining whether to continue service or escalate extensive requests to supervisors or suppliers.
· Manage all necessary documentation and data entry tasks.
· Provide timely and effective problem resolution and troubleshooting support to clients via telephone and email when system failures or issues arise.
· Evaluate needs and train users in the proficient use of equipment.
· Advise staff on hardware and software procurement.
· Stay informed about new equipment and software training opportunities.
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients to ensure adequate support.
· Develop and sustain relationships with sales personnel to assist them in meeting customer needs.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with OEM SE and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians to share knowledge of various equipment types.
  • Work alongside the programming team to comprehend the integration of our software with hardware.
  • Oversee inventory room management in conjunction with the inventory controller.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Your Qualifications Include...

  • College diploma, ideally in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in general computer installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • 2+ years of experience in wireless troubleshooting.
  • CWNA or CCNA Wireless Certification is required (CWSP or CWDP are preferred).
  • Fall Arrest Training and Lift Certification are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary, and experience with a CRM is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent writing abilities.
  • Highly organized and capable of working under pressure.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
