Job Summary:

The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to clients and residents. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory levels of food and supplies, ensuring that stock is rotated and expired items are removed.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to enhance the culinary experience.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless meal service and high-quality food presentation.

Requirements:

  • Recognized certification in food safety and handling.
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a healthcare or social services setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, residents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in culinary arts or a related field an asset.
