Lead Server Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Server to join our team at Lifestyle Options. As a Lead Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our residents and guests, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to all dining residents and guests
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all daily menu items and specials
  • Properly set tables, remove used dishes and place settings, and assist with cleaning duties
  • Train new staff and comply with all dining and kitchen policies and procedures
  • Assist with opening and closing the dining room, including locking up the dining room
  • Divide cleaning tasks and assign them to the dining room staff
  • Observe Level I and II Servers to ensure tasks are performed according to instructions
  • Participate in active team work with the whole dining room/kitchen team and welcome new team members
  • Demonstrate respect to residents and cater to their needs and requests in a timely manner
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Prepare the dining room and service kitchen area daily for opening service
  • Suggest daily menu items with a clear tone of voice
  • Serve food and beverages
  • Check tables, chairs, and place settings for cleanliness
  • Clear all dirty dishes
  • Clean equipment, as assigned, thoroughly and in a timely fashion
  • Keep the floor, in both the dining room and service area, clean and free of debris
  • Ensure condiments, napkins, and placemats are well stocked and replace supplies accordingly
  • Follow OHS Regulations and report related concerns
  • Provide residents with a comfortable, relaxed dining experience
  • Engage in friendly, polite conversation with residents
Requirements:
  • Three (3) years of experience in food services required
  • One (1) year of leading/training capacity required
  • Strong customer service experience required
  • Strong coaching and mentorship skills required
  • Clear criminal record check completed a maximum of three (3) months prior to the 'date of hire' required
  • Strong written and verbal English skills to effectively communicate with all residents, visitors, and at all levels within the organization required
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Ability to work in an infectious disease outbreak environment and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
  • Professional manners
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
