Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team at Baker Tilly Ottawa LLP. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to our clients, ensuring their tax compliance needs are met, and identifying opportunities for tax planning and savings.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and ensure accuracy of tax filings, including T1, T2, T3, and T5013 returns.
- Offer tax planning services to clients, including identifying opportunities for tax savings and minimizing tax liabilities.
- Research and resolve complex tax-related issues, providing expert advice to clients and staff.
- Manage staff in the tax group, providing guidance, coaching, and developing their tax knowledge.
- Support and mentor firm staff on tax matters, including preparing and presenting technical sessions.
- 3-5 years of progressive public accounting experience with a tax specialty and a professional designation.
- Successful completion of the CICA In-depth tax course or equivalent.
- Sound technical knowledge of Canadian tax-related issues.
- Ability to provide value-added service to clients.
- Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
- Computer skills, including Caseware and Taxprep.
- Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including related deadlines and ability to work to meet those deadlines.
- Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
