Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our Surgery team at Western Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and animal health technicians in daily tasks and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and animal health technicians with patient care and procedures, including restraint, sample collection, and radiography
- Prepare for surgery and other procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Perform administrative tasks, such as client communication, filing, and faxing
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe hospital environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting, preferably in surgery
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Flexibility to work a 40-hour, 4-day compressed work week
