POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Technician plays a vital role in the sanitation department. This position involves ensuring the readiness of sanitation tools and materials, while also validating the sanitation processes. The technician is expected to demonstrate safe working practices and effectively operate sanitation equipment and chemicals. Responsibilities include performing general sanitation tasks alongside fellow technicians, which encompass daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and sanitation within the core facility, as well as managing room turnover and maintaining cleanliness.
- Conducting thorough cleaning of equipment and components to support production activities.
- Collaborating closely with the quality assurance team to meet Health Canada cleaning and sanitation standards.
- Organizing and cleaning production areas utilizing appropriate methods, materials, and equipment.
- Complying with Health Canada and WHMIS safety regulations.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to maintain cleanliness of the facility.
- Collecting and disposing of waste from production areas.
- Replenishing and managing inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Regularly cleaning and sanitizing core areas, including floors, walls, and door handles.
- Operating industrial cleaning equipment such as pressure washers and steam cleaners.
- Cleaning grow rooms before, during, and after production cycles.
- High school diploma is mandatory.
- Ability to remain on feet and be active for extended periods.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting with a positive demeanor.
- Able to lift weights exceeding 50lbs.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Valid WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
- Commitment to wearing and adhering to PPE guidelines.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning agents is advantageous.
