About the Role
The Principal Electronics Hardware Designer is a key member of our Electrical Equipment Design Team in Montreal, responsible for designing and testing electronic circuits for the delivery of high voltage PFA treatments, communications, and interface circuits for medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, modify, and test electrical circuits and systems using the latest tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
- Resolve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending the implementation of corrective or preventative measures.
- Study, research, and select electronic circuits, components, tools, and equipment using best practices.
- Document the development of electrical components by writing procedures, reports, memos, and change requests.
- Track electrical component development efforts by creating and maintaining records in approved tracking management tools.
- Clearly communicate key technical updates to relevant parties to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical research, and marketing departments on complex projects to ensure success.
- Demonstrate a leading commitment to patient safety and product quality at all times by adhering to all documented quality processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
- PCB Layout using Altium Designer / Schematic, Layout, and Documentation Package.
- Analog Circuit Design.
- Switching Power Supply Design.
- Power Magnetics Design.
- Low Noise circuit Analog Design.
- Microcontroller-based circuits.
- Low Speed Digital design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing analog/power supply electronics.
- Experience in designing Low Noise analog electronics.
- Experience using electrical engineering analytical techniques to translate high-level requirements into realizable circuit designs.
- Experience in the field of medical device electronics.
- Familiarity using Python for automation of simulation and data analytics.
- Ability to solve complex problems by analyzing root causes, including designing and executing experimental plans and using statistical methodologies to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical information from multiple and varied sources.
- Ability to work independently to plan, schedule, and execute activities necessary to meet project deadlines.
